E-code Rules Reviewed
by Susan Aro
Wednesday - March 16, 2005 (GMT+8)
LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET The technical working group is on the process of reviewing the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the environmental code (e-code).
The TWG was reconvened last week to initially integrate some provisions. Members of the TWG chaired by the Environment and Natural Resources Office are Provincial Planning and Development Office, Department of Interior and Local Government, Provincial Tourism Office, Provincial Legal Office, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, Provincial Veterinary Office, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Provincial Police Office, Integrated Provincial Health Office and the Philippine Information Agency.
As can be recalled the draft of the IRR was initially presented to the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Council last February 28.
The TWG met March 11 to consolidate inputs from the members of the TWG and would be subject for review through a workshop on March 17.
The TWG is targeting the finalization of inputs for presentation to the Executive Steering Committee chaired by Board Member Aloysius Kato on March 28 and ready for presentation to the board on April 4.
