BAGUIO CITY Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita has belied rumors that Malacañang will issue an order suspending Mayor Braulio Yaranon over the Jadewell Parking Systems Corporations issue.
Yaranon, in his regular Usapang Panlungsod media briefing last Thursday said the secretary, who was with President during the Philippine Military Academy graduation rites last Saturday personally told him that there was no plan to suspend him.
Secretary Ermita has personally told me that there was no such thing. There may have been some miscommunication on this, the mayor told the media practitioners.
Rumors about the mayors alleged suspension circulated in the city including City Hall over the last two weeks. The suspension order was allegedly a result of Jadewells petition filed before the Office of the President for alleged violation of Constitution, abuse of authority, oppression and such other charges.
Secretary Ermita told me: Mayor, it is not true. Lets forget about it, the mayor quoted Ermita as saying.
Meanwhile, the mayor said that they have prepared a motion to dismiss the case filed by Jadewell before the Office of the President and the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Yaranon said that in his motion, it was detailed how the Jadewell contract came into fore, how it was adopted and how it is now being implemented.
It also includes all the alleged irregularities committed by its advocates and the Jadewell itself, which, according to the mayor, is his way of hitting back at his detractors whom he said are doing everything to discredit him.
They have been making me a punching bag so I think I have the right to give them my Manny Pacquiao punch, the mayor said.
The mayor said they will file the motion anytime soon.
