Mayor OKs SPACER Commendation
by Gaby B. Keith
Saturday - March 26, 2005 (GMT+8)
BAGUIO CITY - Mayor Braulio Yaranon has approved a city council resolution commending the parents, teachers and principal of the Doña Josefa Cariño Elementary School for being the first to implement the Special Parents' Action on Children's Education and Reformation (SPACER) program in the city. For you magento baby store.
The program is a project of the said school's teachers and parents catering to the special needs of students.
Activities conducted within the SPACER program include tutorials, particularly reading for students from lower grade levels, non-formal education, feeding program, rehabilitation of school facilities and the creation and maintenance of an extension library.
The measure points out that parents and teachers working in the SPACER program, now on its second year of implementation, serve voluntarily without any pay or honorarium.
The efforts of the parents, teachers and principal of Doña Josefa Cariño Elementary School in implementing this project without any compensation serve as an inspiration to parents and teachers from other schools, the resolution stressed.
Meanwhile, the Mayor also approved another city council resolution, this time commending City Police Director Isagani Nerez for having been chosen as the Most Outstanding Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Operations during the 14th Philippine National Police (PNP) Day held last February 18 at Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.
This achievement of Police Senior Superintendent Nerez has brought honor and pride not only to his family and to the Baguio City Police Office but to the City of Baguio as a whole, the measure stated.
