Nfhfi To Hold Annual Convention In April
Sunday - March 27, 2005 (GMT+8)

The National Federation of Hog Farmers, Inc. (NFHFI) will hold their 14th Annual National Convention and Trade Exhibits on April 7-9, 2005 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center in Tagaytay City, Cavite. This will be hosted by the Cavite Livestock & Poultry Fanners Multi-Purpose Cooperative headed by Belen B. Chavez.

This was announced by NFHFI National Chairman, Nemesio G. Co. The theme of the convention is "Paghahayupan, Gulong ng Masiglang Agrikultura at Matatag na Pamayanan."

According to Convention Chairman, Lawrence C. Yu, they have chosen this particular theme in order to highlight the role of the hog industry in Philippine Agriculture. The hog industry is currently valued at P92 billion.

NFHFI President Albert R.T. Lim, Jr. said that the convention will see a gathering of commercial and backyard hog raisers all over the Philippines. It will feature a trade exhibit, which will showcase the latest in service and product display from local and international manufacturers of automatic equipments, veterinary products, pharmaceuticals and feeds. Another highlight of the event is a series of seminars on modern swine production methods and effective ways of eradicating the most common diseases that afflict hogs.

The NFHMI was established in 1990 and is the umbrella organization of 32 hog farmers’ associations all over the Philippines.
